Driveway Stabilization Geocell
Driveway stabilization geocell, also known as 3D honeycomb geocell, is a high-strength HDPE cellular confinement system engineered for subgrade stabilization of temporary and permanent driveways.
Manufactured from textured or perforated HDPE strips welded into flexible three-dimensional honeycomb structures, the geocell is deployed and stretched over prepared subgrade. Once filled with gravel, crushed stone, sand or local on-site aggregates, it creates a rigid interlocked slab with powerful lateral confinement.
It effectively spreads vehicle loads over a wider area, reduces vertical subgrade settlement, avoids rutting, mud pumping and surface deformation on weak soil, clay or muddy foundations. Compared with thick aggregate pavement, geocell stabilization greatly cuts required filling thickness, lowers raw material transportation cost and shortens construction period.
This geosynthetic solution is widely adopted for haul roads, industrial yard driveways, farm access roads, temporary construction driveways, mine service roads and residential heavy-load driveways.
Perforated geocell versions offer extra drainage capacity for wet areas and rainy regions; textured geocell enhances friction between sheet and fill materials for improved stability.
