Warp Knitted Polyester Geogrid
Key Advantages
1. Integrated warp-knitted structure with non-slip yarn joints, stable mesh dimension under tension.
2. Ultra-low creep and low elongation, elongation at break ≤10%, suitable for permanent infrastructure with 50–120 years design life.
3. High tensile strength and high modulus, excellent reinforcement effect at small strain.
4. Good resistance to acid, alkali and microbial corrosion, applicable for saline-alkali and acidic soil.
5. Protective coating offers good wear resistance, anti-aging and freeze-thaw performance.
6. Flexible, easy to cut and install, reduces fill volume and total project cost.
Warp Knitted Polyester Geogrid
1. Product Overview
Warp Knitted Polyester Geogrid is manufactured from high-tenacity polyester filament yarns by warp knitting process. Longitudinal and transverse yarns are integrated to form a stable grid skeleton, then coated with PVC, SBR or bitumen protective layer. It includes uniaxial and biaxial types.
The yarn joints do not shift under load. The grid interlocks with soil and aggregates to spread loads, restrict lateral soil movement and reduce differential settlement, widely used for long-term soil reinforcement projects.
2. Working Mechanism
The warp-knitted structure locks longitudinal and transverse filaments tightly. Soil particles are embedded in grid apertures to create mechanical interlock. Vertical loads transfer into tensile force along grid ribs. Thanks to the low-creep feature of polyester filaments, the grid and fill form a composite reinforced mass, improving soil shear strength and preventing slope sliding and pavement cracking.

6. Construction Guidelines
1. Level and compact the subgrade, remove sharp stones to prevent grid damage.
2. Lay the geogrid flat and tensioned along the force direction. Overlap length ≥200 mm and fix with U-staples.
3. Backfill soil or aggregate immediately and compact layer by layer. Heavy machinery cannot run directly on exposed geogrid.
4. Cover with soil as soon as possible to avoid long-time UV radiation.
