PET Grid
Key Advantages
- Ultra-low creep & low elongation: elongation at break ≤10%, stable performance under long sustained load for 50–120 years permanent infrastructure.
- High tensile strength & high modulus: high stiffness under small strain, effective to control subgrade deformation.
- Good chemical resistance against acid, alkali and microbial decay, suitable for saline and acidic soil.
- Excellent anti-aging and freeze-thaw resistance with protective coating.
- Lightweight, easy cutting and installation, reduces fill thickness and total project budget.
PET Grid (Polyester Geogrid)
1. Product Overview
PET Grid (short name for polyester geogrid) is a high-performance warp-knitted geosynthetic reinforcement material, manufactured from high-tenacity PET filament yarns and coated with PVC, SBR or bitumen protection layer. It is classified into uniaxial PET Grid and biaxial PET Grid.
It forms mechanical interlock with soil and aggregates to restrain lateral soil movement, spread concentrated loads and reduce differential settlement, widely adopted for long-life civil engineering reinforcement.
2. Working Principle
The grid apertures lock soil particles and crushed stone. Vertical loads are transferred into tensile force on PET grid ribs. Thanks to ultra-low creep property of polyester, the reinforced soil forms an integrated composite structure with improved shear strength and slope stability.

6. Construction Guidelines
1. Level and compact subgrade, remove sharp stones to prevent grid damage.
2. Lay PET Grid flat and tensioned along stress direction, overlap ≥200mm and fix with staples.
3. Backfill material promptly and compact layer by layer. Heavy machinery shall not run directly on exposed grid.
4. Cover with soil immediately to avoid long-time UV exposure.
