Raw Materials & Special Specifications for Subgrade Geocell

Ⅰ. Raw Materials

Made of virgin HDPE blended with antioxidant and anti-aging additives. Black is the primary color. The material resists acid, alkali, freeze-thaw cycles and long-term fatigue loads from vehicle traffic, with a designed service life of 50 to 75 years.

Ⅱ. Main Subgrade Specifications (Classified by Load Capacity)

1. Municipal minor roads, residential driveways, light-load parking lots

Height: 100 mm; sheet thickness: 1.0–1.2 mm; welding pitch: 400–500 mm; smooth surface / slightly perforated

2. National highways, provincial highways, ordinary expressway subgrades (universal bestseller)

Height: 150 mm; sheet thickness: 1.2–1.5 mm; welding pitch: 400–660 mm; textured surface for improved friction

3. Heavy-load expressways, mine haul roads, container yards, airport cargo zones

Height: 200 mm; thickened sheet: 1.5–1.8 mm; welding pitch: 330–400 mm; weld joint peel strength ≥ 10 kN/m

Ⅲ. Surface Type Classification

- Smooth surface: For dry sections with good drainage, filled solely with crushed stone aggregate.

- Perforated type: For low-lying waterlogged areas and muddy soft subgrades; quickly drains pore water to prevent subgrade softening.

- Textured type: Boost friction between geocell and aggregate; standard configuration for heavy-duty roads.
