How to Select Suitable Honeycomb Geocell for Slope Protection?
How to Select Suitable Honeycomb Geocell for Slope Protection?
Select Geocell Height Based on Slope Gradient (the Most Critical Parameter)
Geocell height equals the thickness of filled planting soil. Greater height delivers stronger soil confinement, and larger specifications are mandatory for steep slopes.
1. Gentle slopes (gradient ratio 1:1.5~1:2.5, slope angle <33°, green slopes in parks and residential communities)
Height: 100mm (10cm)
Welding spacing: 400~500mm, sheet thickness: 1.0~1.2mm
2. Conventional slopes (gradient ratio 1:1~1:1.5, ordinary expressway fill slopes, channel slopes)
Height: 150mm (15cm, mainstream standard for general slope protection)
Welding spacing: 400~600mm, sheet thickness: 1.2~1.5mm
3. Steep high slopes (gradient ratio >1:1, slope angle above 45°, mountain cut slopes, high embankments, mine waste slopes)
Height: 200~250mm, thickened sheets of 1.5~1.8mm, reduced welding spacing of 330~400mm to improve soil locking performance
4. Eco retaining walls / river embankment slopes with severe water scouring
Height: 200~300mm, perforated geocell with high-strength welding joints
