Needle-punched non-woven geotextile

Engineering Application Examples

1. Road Engineering: Used for separation and drainage between subgrade and base layers, preventing water damage and reflective cracking;

2. Water Conservancy Engineering: Serves as a reverse filter layer in dikes and dams to prevent seepage failure;

3. Environmental Engineering: Functions as a leachate drainage layer in landfills, used in conjunction with geomembranes;

4. Slope Protection: Combined with vegetation to stabilize soil and prevent erosion and landslides.

Product Details

Needle-punched non-woven geotextiles are a type of geosynthetic material made by mechanically bonding short fibers (such as polyester and polypropylene) into a fabric through a needle-punching process. They exhibit high strength, high permeability, and excellent filtration and reinforcement properties, and are widely used in engineering applications such as road construction, water conservancy, and environmental protection.

I. Core Characteristics and Working Principles

1. Three-dimensional fiber structure with strong filtration performance

The needle-punched manufacturing process arranges fibers in a random, interlocking configuration, forming a stable three-dimensional porous network. This structure allows water to flow freely while effectively retaining soil particles, preventing piping and soil erosion.

· Key parameter: The equivalent opening size (O₉₅) must match the particle size of the protected soil layer;

· Typical applications: Dam slope protection, drainage systems behind retaining walls, and filter layers in blind drains.

2. Excellent drainage capacity

The interconnected pores between fibers create internal drainage channels within the soil mass, enabling rapid removal of excess water, reducing pore water pressure, and preventing structural instability.

· Common applications: Subgrade drainage layers, leachate collection systems in landfills, and filtration on artificial lake slopes.

3. Reinforcement and Separation Functions

· Reinforcement: Enhances the tensile strength of soil, improves the stability of slopes or foundations, and reduces differential settlement;

· Separation: Prevents intermixing of different materials (e.g., gravel and clay), maintaining the integrity and independence of individual layers.

4. Excellent Durability and Adaptability to Harsh Environments

· Resistant to acids and alkalis, microbial degradation, and insect damage;

· Withstands ultraviolet (UV) aging, with a service life of up to 50 years or more.
