3D Honeycomb Geocell — Standard Installation Method
3D Honeycomb Geocell — Standard Installation Method
Standard Installation Method
1. Subgrade Preparation
Clean the base, remove weeds, mud and loose soil; level and compact the foundation to reach required compaction degree. Lay non-woven geotextile as separation layer to prevent intermixing of subsoil and aggregate.
2. Unfold and Anchor Geocell
Spread folded 3D honeycomb geocell fully to design dimensions. Fix edges, middle areas and splicing joints with U-shaped steel ground nails to prevent rebound shrinkage. Overlap panels appropriately if splicing is needed.
3. Layered Filling & Compaction
Fill graded gravel, crushed stone or planting soil into cellular cavities. Fill height shall not exceed cell height. Compact fillers layer by layer with vibratory rollers or compactors. Avoid excessive impact on welding seams.
4. Surface Finishing
Driveway / yard: Spread thin layer of surface gravel, or overlay asphalt/concrete surface;
Slope protection: Fill planting substrate, carry out hydroseeding or shrub planting.
5. Inspection & Acceptance
Check anchoring firmness, filling compactness and flatness before upper structure construction.
