1. Project Overview
New municipal trunk road in Jiangsu coastal city, total length 5.8km. The whole line is coastal mucky soft soil, low bearing capacity, large compression deformation; traditional deep soil replacement would generate massive waste soil and delay construction period.
2. Geotextile Application Details
Material: 500g/m² high-strength filament reinforcing geotextile
Scheme: Single layer geotextile laid on cleared subgrade surface, covered with 25cm gravel filling layer
Construction control: No excessive tension during laying, reserved shrinkage allowance; layered compaction with light roller first
3. Core Functions Played
Load dispersion: Improve overall bearing capacity of soft foundation
Accelerate consolidation: Drain pore water of soft soil to shorten foundation stabilization time
Anti-puncture: Buffer sharp gravel to avoid fabric tearing
4. Acceptance & Operation Effect
Subgrade bearing capacity increased from 55kPa to 110kPa, meeting highway design standard
Total settlement reduced by 42% compared with pure filling scheme
Construction period shortened by 22 days, reduce waste soil transportation and disposal cost
